The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reminds everyone that needs to renew their passports not to wait until the last minute before applying for a renewal. This is to avoid any delay or hassle in your travel plans especially because the government agency usually receives a lot of passport applications during this period (summer season).

Nationwide Job and Livelihood Fair To Happen On May 1
DOLE: A nationwide Job and Livelihood Fair will be held simultaneously in various parts of the country on May 1, 2010 to mark Labor Day in honor of the Filipino workers.
The theme “Manggagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pagbabago” underscores the crucial role of the workers in the national efforts to achieve development and an opportunity to pay tribute to the Filipino workers, both local and overseas, the Labor Chief said.
Meanwhile, local employers and overseas recruitment and manning agencies are expected to participate in the celebration by offering thousands of local and overseas jobs at the May 1 nationwide Job and Livelihood Fair. The Fair is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
The main event will be held at the SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City. To avoid heavy concentration of jobseekers at SMX, the employers and recruitment/manning firms will also be distributed and placed in five other Job and Livelihood Fair venues at Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM Fairview, SM San Lazaro, and SM South in Las Pinas. Similar events will likewise be held in 14 other key regional sites around the country.
Roque said jobseekers are encouraged to register with the PhilJobNet starting April 8 to April 30 as this will hasten skills and job matching and the placement of qualified applicants. Click here to register.
