POEA Advisory: EPS-KLT Passers Must Submit Requirements

The POEA issued an advisory for the successful examinees of the 6th EPS-KLT passers regarding the submission of their required documents. This is necessary so their profile would be included in the Roster of Jobseekers for Korea’s Employment Permit System. This is the list where Korean employers can choose and hire applicants.

POEA Says Recruitment of Seamen in Luneta Now Illegal


If you or your friend is a seafarer and plans to look for a job by going to that famous spot near the National Library in Rizal Park where seamen and manning agencies gather, then I am sorry but this type of recruitment set up is no longer allowed now. The POEA just released an advisory that any recruitment that will be done in that area is considered illegal. Apparently, reports of unfair hiring practices prompted POEA to discontinue issuance of Special Recruitment Authority (SRA’s) to manning agencies that used to conduct recruitment activities in Luneta.

Schedule of Mobile Passport Services From July To November


If you really want an easier way to get a passport, what you should do is wait for the DFA Mobile Passport service in your area. In this program, the DFA coordinates with the local government units and goes all over the Philippines to render passport services. This service is part of the DFA’s effort to reach out to people who for some reason would find it difficult to go to the DFA office to obtain a Philippine passport.

You can always inquire with your local government unit regarding the schedule of the mobile passport in your city or town. But now, the DFA has released their schedule for the mobile consular services for this month until November. Check it out:

Practical Tips In Passport Application


Do you need a passport and wants an easy way to obtain it? The DFA recently issued ten tips to make passport applicant easier and faster for Filipinos. Here are some of them:

1. Applicants should contact the DFA for the latest passport information. They could visit the DFA website (www.dfa.gov.ph) or call 834-4000. 

2. They should apply for passports way ahead of their scheduled trip. Applicants should check the validity of their passports and update their documents accordingly. A passport is valid for five years, but airlines and countries require passports with validity of six months prior to the expiry date.
