POEA Needs a Board Secretary

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration is now accepting applicants for the Board Secretary position (Service Contractor) to be part of the POEA Board Secretariat:


Qualifications:


Male, Single, not more than 35 years old
Bachelor's Degree (preferably with para-legal background)
With supervisory experience
Excellent Communication Skills
Proficient in Computer Operations
Knowledge in taking down Minutes of Meetings and Drafting of Board
Resolution


Salary: P20,000.00/month


Interested applicants should submit an application letter together with the
following documents to the POEA HRD Division, 5th Floor, Blas F. Ople Bldg. Ortigas, Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City:

US Embassy Job Fair To Happen in Baguio City

Update: So sorry to use the word "job fair" in the title. Unfortunately, the America in 3D in Baguio City does not have a job opening to offer applicants unlike the first America in 3D that was held last March in SM North. This event though will provide information on how to work in USA.

Save the Jobs for OFWs in Guam!

The planned transfer of the US military base from Okinawa Japan to Guam would result to a huge and multimillion-dollar construction project that would require the hiring of thousands of foreign workers.


Various press releases reported that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) will be among the first priority for employment. However, this great career opportunity may not push through as different sectors want to stop the military buildup in Guam.


No Military Buildup in Guam= Lost Job Opportunities for OFWs!


Note: Guam is a US-based territory and a no-placement fee country of destination!


WHAT YOU CAN DO

There is an ongoing online petition for the military buildup in Guam to push through. They need to garner 15,000 petitions by June 15, 2011!

Anyone who is at least 18 years old can sign in the petition. One doesn't have to be a US citizen, a resident of Guam or a registered voter on Guam.

Deployment Ban in Bahrain Lifted

An announcement that is posted in The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) official website said that the deployment ban in Bahrain is now lifted. This means that the processing and deployment of Filipino workers bound to Bahrain is now allowed.


This is due to the announcement from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that the security classification in Bahrain was reduced from alert level 2 to alert level 1.
