Saudi Reopens Hiring of Pinoy Household Workers

Saudi Arabia will again issue work visas to Filipino household service workers and increased the minimum salary to USD400 or SR1,500.
This is because of a new memorandum of agreement signed by the governments of Saudi and the Philippines.
Under the new agreement, Filipino household workers should receive the following benefits:
  • One rest day a week,
  • Yearly vacation for at least 30 days,
  • Free ticket to home country,
  • Housing and food or allowance for both.
Saudi employers are also obliged to treat their household workers nicely and to avoid making them work for another household. The employers must also shoulder the fees of the household's workers that are related to visa and Saudi employers should deposit the salary of the household worker to the bank account they will open for them.
