OFW Jobs: Work for a Gas Company in Qatar


The Qatargas Operating Company, Ltd. has several job openings for qualified Filipino workers. They are currently in need of Graphic Officers, Technical Writers and Maintenance Schedulers. Check out qualifications and job descriptions below:

Graphic Officers

Qualifications:
  • Formal College or Technical Institute, educational background with an associate Certificate in Drafting Technology with one (1) or more years of experience or demonstration of equivalent experience. A portfolio showing samples of produced works is a prerequisite.
  • Must have sound knowledge of process equipment functionality, piping codes, field mounted and DCS control and architecture, interlocks, protective devices.
  • Convert CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) drawings to editable format.
  • Must have good knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures used in LNG or related processes.
  • Capable of explaining DCS process control and architecture fundamentals.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • 10 years Operations experience as DCS panel operator, shift leader in the oil and gas process industry, of which at least 2 years should have been in graphics presentations.
  • Should have hands-on experience in at least one of the following process units: Utility, LNG Train, SRU, IR/S&L.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office computer graphics software.
  • Interpersonal skills to give and receive information tactfully to a multicultural audience.

Task Description:
  • Converts the native file P&ID's using CAD or similar into Simplified Word Format Drawings or Sketches.
  • Prepares simplified plant overview and familiarization sketches.
  • Draws plans and working drawings using applicable information from within and outside the assigned discipline.
  • Produces simplified drawings using colour and shapes to facilitate interpretation of data.
  • Modifies issued engineering drawings into procedure formats.
  • Produces isometric sketches as needed to facilitate learning of process loops.
  • Produces simplified or combined drawings that will simplify learning the process.
  • Researches engineering data prior to execution.
  • Determines order of work and methodology with view to build on produced work.
  • Ensures back-up copy of all materials produced.

Technical Writers

Qualifications:
  • HND or relevant Trade Qualifications relating to Petrochemical Operations or equivalent.
  • 12 years' relevant process operation supervision experience in LNG / Gas Plant production.
  • At least 3 years experience in Technical Authoring in the Hydrocarbon / Petrochemical industry.
  • Very good communication skills for training of personnel.
  • Very good written and spoken English and computer keyboard skills.
  • Must be computer literate in the following: Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Project Planning and Scheduling, Spreadsheets, Flowcharts, Graphics, Technical Drawing, Internet and other computer related utilities.

Job Description:
  • Plant Operating Manuals and Procedures.
  • Starts up, Shutdown and Operating Procedures and Standing Instructions.
  • New Projects procedures, including Tie-in and Commissioning.
  • General Operations and Equipment topics.
  • Operations documentation related drawings, forms and checklists to complement all documents.

Maintenance Schedulers
           
Qualifications:
  • HND or equivalent Diploma in maintenance discipline (Mechanical, instrument or Electrical) or petrochemical field.
  • 8 years' maintenance or operations experience in an oil or gas process plant, including site activities and scheduling experience. Planning experience preferred.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • 48 years old and below
  • Computer literacy, including use of maintenance SAP PM (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and scheduling Microsoft Project software tools.

Job Description:
  • Facilitates the daily Risk Based Work Selection (RBWS) meetings.
  • Prepares the weekly schedule to ensure effective use of resources to carry out maintenance activities targeting minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Follows work execution with Operations and maintenance teams, resolve scheduling problems, update the schedule and monitor compliance.
